Incoterms® 2020 – Delivery Terms (DAP / DDU)

All international shipments are made under Incoterms® 2020 – Delivered at Place (DAP), also commonly referred to as Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU).

Under DAP/DDU terms:

  • ASSL is responsible for arranging and paying for transportation to the destination country.
  • Import duties, taxes, customs clearance fees, and regulatory charges are the sole responsibility of the customer.
  • ASSL does not act as the importer of record

Shipping Costs

  • Shipping fees are calculated at checkout or quoted separately.
  • Shipping charges are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched.
  • Additional charges incurred due to customs, storage, inspections, or re-delivery are the responsibility of the customer.

Risk Transfer & Title

  • Risk of loss or damage transfers to the customer once goods are delivered to the carrier at the point of dispatch, in accordance with Trinidad & Tobago law and Incoterms® 2020.
  • ASSL remains responsible for loss or damage occurring prior to handover to the carrier.
  • Delivery is deemed complete once goods are handed to the carrier or delivered to a customer-designated freight forwarder.

Customs, Duties & Import Compliance

Customers are solely responsible for:

  • Import duties, VAT, and taxes;
  • Customs clearance and brokerage fees;
  • Required permits, licenses, or certifications;
  • Compliance with destination country laws and import regulations.

ASSL is not responsible for goods that are delayed, held, seized, or rejected by customs or regulatory authorities.

Orders will not be refunded for items denied entry into the destination country.

Customs Delays Disclaimer

Delivery times may be affected by:

  • Customs inspections or clearance delays;
  • Regulatory reviews;
  • Carrier disruptions;
  • Destination country procedures.

ASSL shall not be held liable for delays beyond its reasonable control, including those caused by customs authorities or third-party carriers.

Freight Forwarders & Third-Party Addresses

Customers may ship orders to freight forwarders, skybox, or seabox services at their own risk.
Once delivery is confirmed at the forwarding address, ASSL’s responsibility is fulfilled.

Buyer’s (Customer) Responsibilities:

In order to avoid potential problems in the clearance of your merchandise, we strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with policies and procedures prior to actually purchasing your goods. You should also be aware of any entry requirements specific to the particular commodity you are importing, including those of other federal agencies.

  • You are required to know your own country’s taxes and laws.
  • You may require a permit, license, or other certification; depending on the commodity that is being purchased, therefore you are responsible for acquiring appropriate documentation.
  • If certain items are illegal to import into your country, you are liable to any legal issues that may arise.
  • You are responsible for paying any fees due upon arrival; these may include warehouse fees, Customs and Duties, Taxes etc.

Amalgamated Security Services Limited is not responsible for permits, licenses, charges, fees or legal issues that may arise from the purchase of goods from our CaribMarketHub that is brought into your country. Your order will not be refunded for items seized in your country.
